Mr. Evoniuk’s Retirement Letter

Dear Parents and Friends,

By now you have read the letter sent out by the School Board informing you of my retirement as principal for Liberty Christian School.  I would just like to take this opportunity to comment on this new era for myself and what it will mean to Liberty Christian School.

First of all, I have never thought of this work as a "job".  It has always been clear to me and my wife Orletta that this is a calling and ministry from the Lord.  As such, it is a great privilege and blessing to have been here for over 30 years.  Since it is a calling and ministry from the Lord, I do not see myself as "retiring" from the work here.  It is time for me to retire from being the "boss" as principal.  It is time for a younger person and a time for "new energy".  Even though it is a hard adjustment to let go of this role, I whole-heartedly look forward to this new era for Liberty and for myself.

I do look at Liberty as a life's calling and a life-long commitment.  What greater thing could I hope to support than a calling to help develop children as they discover God's plan for their lives?  Orletta and I have been and will continue to be "sold out" to Liberty Christian School.

Orletta will continue to teach as she has for a number of years until the Lord directs otherwise.  I plan to be involved in a number of ways.  With the Board's direction, I will be involved with administrative paper work and accounting in order to provide a "breaking in" period and for a smooth transition for the new principal.  I may also teach a class in junior high.  These plans are not yet finalized.  Also, I will continue to serve as a school board member.

May I say thank you for having had the blessing of serving so many wonderful families and for the opportunity to be involved as a partner with you in the lives of your children!  In my heart, they have been and will continue to be "my" children as well.
